GeFroce 616.92 driver adds three games alongside new DLSS upgrades

NVIDIA has rolled out another GeForce driver update, with version 616.92 bringing Game Ready support for several upcoming and recently updated PC titles. More importantly for anyone who installed last week's problematic driver, this release officially includes the display flickering fix that NVIDIA previously delivered through a temporary hotfix.

The new driver adds support for 007 First Light, Active Matter, Aniimo, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, and WARDOGS. However, the display-related fixes may be the most important part of the update for many users.

Driver 616.56, released last week, was quickly followed by reports of monitor flickering and black screens across NVIDIA's forums and Reddit. NVIDIA responded with a hotfix just days later, which addressed three issues that are now incorporated into the regular 616.92 release.

The fixes cover intermittent browser flickering when visiting certain websites, problems preventing virtual displays from being created, and an issue with Remote Desktop sessions occasionally producing a black screen after installing driver 616.56. With the hotfix now folded into the main driver, users no longer need to rely on the separate temporary release.

On the gaming side, 007 First Light is getting its highly anticipated path tracing update on September 15. NVIDIA's DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction will also be available, promising more detailed lighting, shadows and reflections alongside the game's new ray-traced effects.

WARDOGS is another major addition, launching into Early Access on September 10. The large-scale first-person shooter from BULKHEAD and Team17 has reportedly accumulated more than 1.5 million wishlists, while 500,000 players took part in its August closed beta. RTX users will get DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation, and NVIDIA Reflex at launch.

Meanwhile, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is finally gaining DLSS Super Resolution support on September 10. Players can also use the NVIDIA App's DLSS override functionality to access newer DLSS 4.5 models, potentially improving both performance and image quality beyond the game's standard implementation.
