RTX 5080 is only 17% faster than the RTX 5070 Ti, according to 3DMark benchmarks

Videocardz has obtained a complete set of 3DMARK benchmark results for Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. These benchmarks cover all major 3DMARK tests, including Fire Strike, which was first released in 2015.

According to reports, all of these leaked benchmarks originate from a single reviewer. This reviewer conducted tests using a system equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and 48GB of DDR5-6000 memory. On average, Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti outperforms the previous-generation RTX 4070 Ti SUPER by 16.6%. Additionally, the GPU is only 13.2% slower, on average, than the RTX 5080.

However, it remains unclear how these synthetic benchmarks will translate to real-world gaming performance. Since 3DMARK scores do not always accurately reflect actual gameplay, the relevance of older benchmarks like Fire Strike—now nearly a decade old—is questionable. Modern games utilize GPUs differently than they did in 2015, making older tests less indicative of current performance.

The RTX 5080 features 10,752 CUDA cores, whereas the RTX 5070 Ti has 8,960, meaning the RTX 5080 has 20% more cores. Given that the benchmarks suggest the RTX 5080 is only 15.2% faster than the RTX 5070 Ti on average, despite having 20% more CUDA cores, it raises questions about how these results will compare to actual gaming performance.
