Xbox launches The Outer Worlds 2 controller with custom design

Microsoft offers a wide variety of Xbox controller options, and soon there will be two new additions to the lineup. Similar to the recently launched Ninja Gaiden 4 controllers, the newly released official gamepads for The Outer Worlds 2 come in both Xbox Wireless Controller and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 versions.

This launch is part of the Xbox Design Lab initiative, enabling fans to personalize the controllers even more before completing their purchase. Customization options include various button styles that align with the color theme of Obsidian Entertainment’s title, optional metallic triggers and D-pad, an engraving on the top case, and rubberized grips on the sides and back.

As anticipated, the Elite Series 2 version includes the standard enhanced features as well. It comes with adjustable-tension thumbsticks, a complete rubberized grip, and shorter travel triggers in its base model, with options like back paddles also available.

Like all Xbox controllers, these new options are compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PCs, in addition to iOS, Android, and cloud devices. The Xbox Wireless Controller – The Outer Worlds 2 has a starting price of $94.98 / £82.98 / 94,98€, whereas the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 - The Outer Worlds 2 is priced at $184.98 / £147.98 / 174,98€ before any additional customization charges, and both options can be ordered through Xbox Design Lab now.

Regarding the RPG itself, The Outer Worlds 2 is set to be released on October 29, 2025, for PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
