ASUS’ ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 is a GPU unlike any other

ASUS has officially unveiled one of its most extravagant graphics cards to date: the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20, a limited-edition model celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand. First shown at Computex 2026, the card builds on the flagship ROG Astral RTX 5090 while adding exclusive styling, premium materials, and several collector-focused features.

Powered by NVIDIA's Blackwell-based GeForce RTX 5090, the card packs 21,760 CUDA cores, 32GB of 28 Gbps GDDR7 memory, and a 512-bit memory bus. Factory overclocking pushes boost speeds to 2,760 MHz in OC Mode, while PCIe 5.0 support and up to 3,352 AI TOPS make it one of the fastest consumer GPUs available. ASUS recommends using at least a 1,200W power supply to handle its demanding power requirements.

The standout feature is a curved detachable AMOLED display mounted on the card, capable of showing custom animations, system monitoring information, and real-time hardware statistics. ASUS also includes a transparent glass backplate that exposes the PCB underneath, turning the graphics card into a showcase piece as much as a gaming component. The special edition adopts an eye-catching black, red, and gold color scheme inspired by two decades of ROG hardware.

Cooling is handled by ASUS' signature quad-fan design, which the company says delivers up to 20% more airflow and air pressure than traditional triple-fan coolers. A patented vapor chamber, liquid metal thermal compound, large heatpipes, and a massive heatsink help keep temperatures under control during demanding gaming and AI workloads.

One of the card's most unusual features is its dual power input system, allowing it to draw up to 800W when paired with compatible ASUS BTF hardware alongside a standard 12V-2x6 connector. ASUS also includes an extensive range of collector's extras, including a GPU support bracket, commemorative coin, detachable AMOLED module, custom keycap, PCB ruler, stickers, thank-you card, and other anniversary-themed accessories.

More than just another RTX 5090 variant, the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 serves as both a showcase of ASUS engineering and a celebration of the ROG brand's 20-year history, combining flagship performance with premium design and collector appeal.
