Corsair HS80 V2 Max headset debuts with new drivers and pro-grade mic

Corsair unveils HS80 V2 Max gaming headset with upgraded drivers and mic

Corsair has expanded its HS80 headset family with the HS80 v2 MAX WIRELESS, a new high-end gaming headset designed to improve audio quality, voice capture, and battery life while retaining the series' familiar comfort-focused design.

One of the biggest upgrades comes from the new 50mm non-Newtonian laminate drivers. Corsair says the material helps reduce unwanted residual vibrations, allowing quieter sounds such as enemy footsteps to remain clearer during intense gameplay. The drivers have also been tuned for a wider soundstage with detailed bass, mid-range, and high-frequency reproduction. PC users can take things further with Dolby Atmos spatial audio support.

The microphone has received an upgrade as well. A new 10mm microphone capsule is designed to provide what Corsair describes as broadcast-grade voice and chat quality. Like the previous HS80 MAX, the headset also works with NVIDIA Broadcast on GeForce RTX PCs, providing AI-powered features such as background noise removal.

Despite the new hardware, Corsair has retained the HS80 family's premium construction. The headset uses an aluminum frame, memory foam ear cushions, and a floating headband, while the flip-to-mute microphone provides a convenient way to quickly cut audio. At 370 grams, it is certainly a substantial gaming headset, but simultaneous 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connectivity gives it plenty of flexibility.

The HS80 v2 MAX is compatible with PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. Its battery life has also received a significant boost, with Corsair claiming up to 110 hours over low-latency 2.4GHz wireless and 130 hours over Bluetooth when RGB lighting is disabled. Turning the lighting on reduces those figures to 65 hours and 80 hours respectively, which should still be enough to keep most gamers playing for several days between charges.

The Corsair HS80 v2 MAX WIRELESS is available from October 8, 2026, through Corsair's webstore and its network of authorized retailers and distributors. Corsair has not yet announced pricing, so the final cost remains unknown.

The headset comes with a two-year warranty and access to Corsair's global customer service and technical support network. With its updated drivers, improved microphone, long battery life, and multi-platform wireless connectivity, the HS80 v2 MAX looks like a substantial upgrade to an already popular gaming headset.
