Lenovo’s new ThinkCentre squeezes a work PC into a 27-inch display

Lenovo has quietly started rolling out the ThinkCentre Neo 50a Gen 7 27, a new all-in-one desktop that is set to reach most global markets, including Europe, while being excluded from North America. The system was listed through Lenovo's PSREF database but did not appear alongside the company's other IdeaCentre all-in-ones at IFA 2026.

The new ThinkCentre is built around Intel's 5-core and 6-core Wildcat Lake processors, with three options currently listed: the Core 3 304, Core 5 320 and Core 7 350. Despite belonging to the same processor family, there is reportedly close to a 30% performance difference between the entry-level Core 3 304 and the Core 7 350. The limited core counts also mean the Gen 7 can fall behind even the older Gen 5 model in some multi-core workloads.

Memory configurations are similarly tied to the processor choice. The system uses LPDDR5X-7467 memory, but configurations above 8GB require stepping up to the Core 5 320 or Core 7 350. The latter is also the only processor option that can be configured with 32GB of RAM. Storage is more flexible, with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB M.2 2280 SSD options available across the processor range.

Wireless connectivity is handled by one of four modem options, with configurations reaching Intel's BE213 or Realtek's RTL8922AE. Depending on the configuration, the system supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Lenovo is also positioning the ThinkCentre Neo 50a Gen 7 as an AI PC, while its Smart Meeting features are designed to improve video calls through functions such as automatic lighting adjustments, background-noise reduction and audiovisual enhancements. As with other AI PC features, the practical benefits will depend on the applications being used and whether they support the system's dedicated AI hardware.

The display is another configurable part of the system, with buyers able to choose between touch and non-touch IPS panels. Both versions measure 27 inches and offer a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 350 nits of peak brightness, 99% sRGB coverage and a 120Hz refresh rate.

That makes the ThinkCentre Neo 50a Gen 7 27 a larger alternative to Lenovo's ThinkCentre Neo 50a 24, while retaining the all-in-one format that combines the display and PC hardware in a single chassis. Lenovo has yet to position the system for North American availability, but its PSREF listing confirms plans for a broader international rollout.
