MSI has brought back its Cyclone series of graphics cards, incorporating the nostalgic look of its classic designs with the new RTX 50 series models. This comeback began at Computex with the MSI RTX 5070 Cyclone Visual and is now continued with their RTX 5060 Cyclone OC.
As an RTX 5060 graphics card, MSI’s latest Cyclone OC version is equipped with 3840 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR7 memory. Powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU architecture, this graphics card also features DLSS 4 for upscaling and multi-frame generation capabilities.
This new graphics card is driven by a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. In terms of cooling, the Cyclone employs a single fan that sits atop an exposed heatsink. Although Nvidia’s RTX 5060 is classified as a low-end graphics card, it still supports four display outputs, including one HDMI 2.1 port and three DisplayPort 2.1 ports.
Following the design of previous MSI Cyclone models, the RTX 5060 Cyclone incorporates an aluminum extruded sunflower heatsink design with dense fins. This cooling solution is further enhanced by two heatpipes linking to two stacks of dense fins.
Given that this new GPU is already listed on MSI’s website, we anticipate that this retro-inspired graphics card will be available at retailers soon. It’s important to note that MSI has yet to reveal the pricing for this new graphics card. Nevertheless, we expect it to be competitively priced within the RTX 5060 range.
The RTX 5060 serves as a solid entry point for gamers entering the RTX ecosystem, providing commendable performance and next-generation features at an affordable rate.
