This week's game launches on PC, PS5, Xbox: Sept/Oct 2026 (Week 40)

The final days of September are bringing another wave of new games to PC and consoles. From hunting and dungeon crawling to transportation management and cyberpunk life simulation, there is plenty of variety this week. Most titles are arriving on tomorrow, September 29. Then, on October 1, ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE will take players into the skies for the latest chapter in Bandai Namco's long-running aerial combat series. However, if you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you are entitled to a significant upgrade today, as the remastered version of the game arrives today as a free update that also includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions.

September 28 - October 4 releases

The week gets off to a wild start with Way of the Hunter 2, the latest hunting simulation from Nine Rocks Games and THQ Nordic. The game launches on September 29 for PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It expands the series with a new hunting environment, more than 30 animal species, new equipment, and hunting dogs. It's designed to offer a methodical hunting experience that is perfect for fans of hunting simulators.

Minecraft Dungeons II is perhaps the biggest name arriving on September 29. Mojang Studios and Double Eleven are expanding the action-RPG spin-off series with a new adventure that takes players beyond the familiar Overworld and into the Sift, a mysterious new dimension. The game supports solo play as well as multiplayer for up to four players, with cross-platform multiplayer also available. The sequel to Minecraft Dungeons also expands the original's combat and progression systems. Heroes get more equipment options, new enemies and environments, and greater freedom when creating builds. The Sift is particularly interesting because it introduces new locations, hazards, mobs and gameplay rules. Mojang has also confirmed that the dimension will eventually make its way into the main Minecraft game in 2027.

Photography and adventure are mixed in TOEM 2, the sequel to Something We Made's charming indie hit. The game launches on PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, putting players behind the camera once again as they explore new locations, uncover hidden details and help the characters they encounter. TOEM 2 encourages curiosity. Players use their camera to document the world and discover its secrets. The result is a relaxed adventure that stands out as appealing alternative to others titles coming this week for players looking for something wholesome and unusual.

If managing an enormous transportation empire sounds more appealing than hunting wildlife or battling monsters, Transport Fever 3 is also arriving on September 29 with a combination of transportation management and city building. Urban Games' latest management simulation launches simultaneously on PC, Mac, Linux, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. As a new installment in the series, it features more than 275 vehicles, new industries, dynamic weather, improved town development mechanics and a more detailed traffic simulation. Players can build networks across land, sea and air while managing everything from infrastructure and cargo chains to loans, contracts and growing cities.

Nivalis Nights finally arrives on PC through Steam on September 29. Developed by ION LANDS, the studio behind Cloudpunk, this cyberpunk life simulator lets players experience lving in the neon-soaked city of Nivalis. Players can start small by running a noodle stand before expanding into restaurants and nightclubs. Outside of business management, there are apartments to buy and decorate, ingredients to grow or purchase, boats to explore the city, fishing activities, relationships to develop and even a cyberpunk chess tournament.  Nivalis Nights is easily one of the more unusual releases of the week.

The week closes with ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, which launches on PC through Steam on October 1 The console launch is officially listed for October 2, while Deluxe Edition owners receive three days of early access.

The latest entry in the aerial combat franchise promises intense dogfights, cinematic missions and a new campaign featuring rival ace squadrons, superweapons and a war unfolding across the skies of Usea. The game also introduces ACE COMBAT ONLINE, featuring cross-platform multiplayer, online co-op and competitive modes.

A diverse week for new games

Way of the Hunter 2, Minecraft Dungeons II, TOEM 2, Transport Fever 3, and Nivalis Nights all launch on the same day.
