On May 14, 2026, the developer SCS Software officially launched the American Truck Simulator—Illinois DLC. Below is the full detailed information regarding the content and new features in this Illinois DLC.

The journey to explore Chicago and 10 major cities in the state of Illinois

First of all, this expansion brings a total of 11 major cities recreated in a detailed and faithful manner, including the following:

Chicago (The "Windy City")
Springfield (The state capital)
Rockford
Peoria
Along with other cities such as Aurora, Bloomington, Champaign, Decatur, Joliet, Moline, and Quincy.

Players can also pass through 7 small towns/residential areas full of suburban identity, such as Macomb or Chenoa.

This Illinois DLC focuses on recreating many of the state's iconic architectural and natural wonders, including:

Famous landmarks: The Buckingham Memorial Fountain in Chicago, the State Capitol Building in Springfield, Rock Valley College in Rockford, and especially the starting point of the legendary Route 66 right in downtown Chicago.
Natural landscapes: Players will drive along major bodies of water and conservation areas such as Rend Lake, the Mississippi River, Shawnee National Forest, and Lake Michigan.
