Ten games featured in the latest dLcompare Weekly Recap (Oct. 3–11)
Order of the Sinking Star
Puzzle enthusiasts have a substantial challenge waiting for them in Order of the Sinking Star. Created by Jonathan Blow, the designer behind Braid and The Witness, this ambitious adventure features more than 1,000 handcrafted puzzles spread across four interconnected worlds. Players explore a mysterious fantasy realm, discover unusual characters, and experiment with evolving mechanics as seemingly separate puzzle systems begin to overlap. It is a promising choice for anyone who enjoys games that reward patience, observation, and lateral thinking.
Invokyr
With Halloween approaching, Invokyr brings a sinister flavour to the lineup. This cooperative horror game supports up to six players, who must explore a cursed house full of dangerous creatures, traps, and supernatural threats. Teamwork is essential as players tackle the challenges and attempt to defeat the mysterious Game Master. For groups looking for a frightening multiplayer experience, this is one to keep an eye on.
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival
Few horror franchises are as closely associated with disturbing imagery and otherworldly torment as Hellraiser. This time, Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival brings that unsettling universe into a first-person survival horror experience developed by Saber Interactive. Featuring Pinhead and the Cenobites, the game introduces an original story built around grotesque creatures, supernatural violence, and the franchise's signature blend of pain and pleasure. Released on October 8, it gives horror fans another reason to keep the lights on this October.
Japanese Ramen Simulator
Not every game needs monsters, cosmic mysteries, or a desperate fight for survival. Japanese Ramen Simulator takes a more everyday subject and turns it into a simulation experience centred on the world of ramen. Its food-focused premise offers a change of pace for players who enjoy cooking and simulation games.
STAR WARS: Galactic Racer
The Star Wars galaxy isn't all Jedi, Sith, and lightsaber duels. STAR WARS: Galactic Racer shifts the spotlight to high-speed competition, taking players into a racing experience set in the iconic science-fiction universe. With vehicles and dangerous tracks replacing the usual focus on intergalactic conflict, the game offers a fresh angle on the franchise. It is an intriguing prospect for fans who would rather put the pedal to the metal than reach for a lightsaber.
Gears of War: E-Day
The recap also features Gears of War: E-Day, a new entry that takes the series back to one of its defining moments: Emergence Day. The game explores the beginning of the Locust invasion, revisiting the early days of the conflict that shaped the Gears of War universe. Its focus on the outbreak of the war brings the franchise back to its roots, with an experience that is all about desperate resistance, survival, and brutal combat.
AION 2
MMORPG fans have AION 2 to watch. Developed by NCSoft, the sequel expands on the world established by the original AION, bringing large-scale fantasy battles and a persistent online setting back into the spotlight. With player-versus-environment activities and player-versus-player combat, this free-to-play experience is perfect for fans of character progression, exploration, and competitive encounters in a shared world.
SPAM
Despite its name, SPAM isn't about flooding anyone's inbox. This free-to-play, turn-based combat game challenges players to build their card collections, adapt to opponents, and create powerful combinations. Each victory helps expand the available arsenal, giving players more options as they refine their strategies. With competitive multiplayer at its core, SPAM could appeal to deckbuilding fans who enjoy testing their creations against other players.
CPM 2
Car enthusiasts can get behind the wheel in CPM 2. Developed by OGames, this open-world driving sandbox combines car customisation with cross-platform multiplayer. Players can tackle parking challenges, practise drifting, and participate in drag, rally, circuit, and drift races. The game also features car meets, making it as much about showing off a carefully tuned vehicle as winning races. Its Early Access launch on October 8 brought the driving experience to PC.
[WoG] War of Genesis: Idle Loot
For players who like watching their progress grow without constantly managing every action, [WoG] War of Genesis: Idle Loot offers an idle RPG experience. Its defining feature is a transparent-background 3D character that fights and collects equipment in a small corner of the desktop while players get on with other tasks. Loot can improve equipment or be traded through the Steam Community Market, while alliance activities, boss battles, and PvP add a competitive dimension. The free-to-play game entered Early Access recently.
