Logitech MX Master 4 Special Edition surfaces in a new pre-launch leak

Logitech MX Master 4 Special Edition appears ahead of its official debut

Logitech appears to be preparing a more eye-catching version of its MX Master 4 productivity mouse. Marketing images shared by WinFuture's Roland Quandt reportedly reveal the upcoming Logitech MX Master 4 Special Edition, showcasing a red-and-gray design that stands out from the standard model. However, those hoping for a hardware upgrade may be disappointed, as the changes appear to be almost entirely cosmetic.

Rumors of a Special Edition first emerged last week, but details were limited at the time. The newly leaked images now provide a much clearer look at the mouse, which reportedly builds on the Pale Gray version of the regular MX Master 4 with a series of red accents and decorative graphics.

The left-click button features a textured surface with red graphics, while the right-click button carries a red Special Edition label. Additional markings and numbers run across the upper section, complemented by a red-to-pink gradient near the side grip. Logitech has also reportedly given the button behind the main scroll wheel and the DPI button reddish finishes, while switching the left and right grips to black or dark gray. A further red-to-pink gradient appears beneath the left grip.

These changes give the Special Edition a more distinctive appearance than the standard MX Master 4's relatively understated color options. Nevertheless, the internal hardware is expected to remain largely unchanged.

The mouse will retain its 8,000 DPI sensor, eight-button layout, and MagSpeed scroll wheel. The horizontal thumb wheel and gesture button should also return, alongside the haptic feedback system introduced with the MX Master 4, which provides tactile responses through the thumb area.

Battery life is reportedly staying the same as well. The Special Edition is expected to use the same 650mAh battery, rated by Logitech for up to 70 days of use on a full charge. As a result, the new model appears aimed at users who appreciate the existing MX Master 4 but want a more distinctive accessory for their desk.

Logitech has yet to officially announce the MX Master 4 Special Edition, so its release date, availability, and pricing remain unknown. Until the company confirms the details, the leaked design and specifications should be treated as unverified information.

Meanwhile, the premium peripheral market continues to see new releases, including the Razer Basilisk V4 Pro, ASUS ROG Gladius IV Ace, Logitech Pro X3 Superstrike and other high-end mice aimed at gaming and productivity enthusiasts.
