The first game is Breathedge, a satirical adventure game set in outer space where you navigate survival. You play as a character known as the Man, who is simply transporting his grandfather’s ashes to a galactic funeral, only to get caught up in a cosmic conspiracy.

The second game is Dark Sector, which puts you in the shoes of Hayden Tenno, a covert agent sent on a perilous mission in Lasria, a decaying Eastern European city that conceals a dangerous Cold War secret. After an encounter with a creature, you gain some intriguing abilities.

Developed by Digital Extremes, it showcases many early ideas that later shaped Warframe. As for the reason Dark Sector is available for free, it might simply be a bonus from Digital Extremes, as most players are on PC and the game typically costs 9.99 €. There has been considerable speculation within the community regarding the game’s connection to Warframe, and it may eventually become part of the lore following the launch of Warframe: 1999.
