Steam Train Fest 2026 is live with a locomotive load of Steam deals

Steam Train Fest 2026 rolls into the station with huge deals on rail games

Steam Train Fest 2026 is now underway, giving PC gamers a full week to grab rail-themed games with discounts of up to 90% through Steam's dedicated Trains category page. The event spans everything from realistic locomotive simulators to laid-back indie experiences, making it one of Valve's biggest sales for a niche genre. As usual, several titles also offer free demos, while an upcoming releases section lets players keep an eye on what's arriving next.

Valve has once again accompanied the sale with one of its trademark tongue-in-cheek trailers hosted by Kaci Aitchison, showcasing a hand-picked lineup of featured games and offering a quick overview of what players can expect. This year's trailer highlights 14 titles that represent four distinct sides of the railway genre.

Leading the hardcore simulation lineup is Train Sim World 6 from UK developer Dovetail Games, one of the most recognizable names in rail simulation. The game features detailed, route-specific content, including the Long Island Rail Road in the US and the UK's iconic West Coast Main Line. Joining it is Derail Valley, a first-person, VR-compatible train simulator that has built a loyal following among railway enthusiasts over the years.

For a more relaxed experience, Steam Train Fest also features Mini Metro, the minimalist subway-planning puzzler that continues to attract new players during every major Steam event, alongside Station to Station, a cozy railway-building game that emphasizes creativity over complexity.

Players who enjoy planning transport networks rather than driving trains themselves can dive into Railway Empire 2 and Transport Fever 2. Both management-focused strategy games challenge players to build sprawling logistics systems, with the reward coming from watching carefully designed rail networks operate efficiently on their own.

Perhaps the most unexpected inclusion is Choo-Choo Charles, a horror-comedy shooter where players are stalked by a monstrous spider-train. It stands out as the festival's strangest offering, providing a sharp contrast to the realism that defines much of the railway genre.

Steam Train Fest 2026 runs through July 27, giving players several more days to expand their libraries with discounted rail-themed games before the event comes to a close. As always, if you’re looking to get the most value from your gaming budget, be sure to browse our dedicated deals hub for the latest offers.
