World of Warcraft: The War Within opens its doors with a test phase

World of Warcraft may not be in its best moment in terms of players but Blizzard's MMORPG continues to be a favorite of a huge fan base that comes and goes with the release of every expansion. That's why the announcement of a change in the way these are released was so important when it revealed that not one but three expansions are on the way. Players progress through new content at an astonishing speed and the developer has been forced to release events like raids in several stages in recent years. However, The Worldsoul Saga promises plenty of new content to explore in the coming years with The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan.

The War Within is the first of these expansions and it's almost ready to be tested. Blizzard has opened the registration to participate in a testing phase that will allow players to "journey through never-before-seen subterranean worlds filled with hidden wonders, earn the trust of the new Earthen allied race, and face an ancient evil lurking in the darkness". You can register and opt-in to be invited to the event which will give you access to the first area in the expansion, the Isle of Dorn, where you will have to work hard to earn the trust of one of the new Allied Races. New heroic talent trees to unlock and other novelties will be available, as well as two dungeons and several brand-new underground battles.

The release of The War Within will surely bring back many players to World of Warcraft although it's yet to be seen if it can catch up with Final Fantasy XIV's numbers again. Microsoft may have a lot to say about certain aspects of the popular MMORPG development since it now owns Blizzard this could have a deep impact on the future of the game. Hopefully, it will be for good.
