The PC version of FIFA 21 won't have next-gen graphics
After announcing FIFA 21 and NFL 21 during the EA Play event last week, Electronic Arts has confirmed that the PC version of the upcoming installment in the FIFA series is going to be the same version released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can read that on the official FAQ at the FIFA 21 website and everyone agrees that it doesn't make sense. It's logical that FIFA 21 will be available for PS4 and Xbox One since PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X won't be available until the end of the year. But, why do you use that version for PC instead of focusing on the best-looking one when the graphics on PC are usually far superior to the ones on consoles. It does make even less sense if you consider that last week's announcement was focused specifically on the features of the next-gen console version of FIFA 21.
It doesn't seem that the PC version of FIFA 21 is going to be improved via an update when the game is released on PS5 and Xbox Series X, so whoever plays the game on PC may never be able to experience some of the features available for the next-gen consoles. It's likely that the core features of the game will be available on the pc version, including "player humanization", which will make players' behavior more authentic in the game.
The release of FIFA 21 is scheduled for October 9, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and the version for the next-gen consoles will be ready later. If you own the game on a console when the new ones are launched you will be able to upgrade your copy to the version for the respective next-gen console for free. We will have to wait to see if EA has some plans for PC, but as it is right now, it will be definitely better to play FIFA 21 on consoles, since it's granted that you will get better graphics and functionalities.
