Asus officially announces ROG Flux dock with 260W power and LCD screen

Asus has introduced the ROG Flux Charger Dock, a high-power charging and connectivity hub designed to bring laptop charging, display output, and peripheral connectivity together in a single device. With up to 260W of total continuous power, the dock can deliver as much as 140W to a compatible laptop over USB-C while simultaneously powering other devices.

The ROG Flux takes a very different approach from other compact chargers. Rather than focusing primarily on portability, Asus has equipped its dock with considerably more power and a selection of features aimed at gaming setups.

Up to 140W is available to the primary device through USB-C Power Delivery, while the remaining capacity can be shared with accessories such as gaming handhelds, smartphones, headsets, and keyboards. Asus says a laptop and other peripherals can all be connected through a single cable.

Five charging modes are available depending on how you want to use the dock. Silent Mode prioritizes quieter operation, while Priority Mode directs up to 140W toward the main device. Dual Laptop Mode can supply up to 100W to two laptops simultaneously, Smart Mode automatically manages power distribution, and Fan Turbo Mode runs the cooling fan at maximum speed when the dock is operating at its highest load.

One of the more unusual additions is a 1.9-inch LCD on the front. It can display real-time information such as charging power and file transfer speeds, while a physical control knob allows users to switch between charging modes and adjust settings without additional software. Asus also supports ROG screensaver themes, custom animations, and RGB lighting effects.

Connectivity is split between the front and rear. The front panel features two USB-C ports capable of up to 100W charging and 10Gbps data transfers, alongside two USB-A ports rated for up to 12W and 480Mbps. Around back, there's another USB-C port supporting up to 140W, an HDMI 2.1 output, and the AC power input. The HDMI 2.1 connection supports displays up to 4K at 144Hz or 8K at 30Hz, with variable refresh rate support for compatible screens.

The ROG Flux also gets the familiar ROG treatment, with a black chassis, Slash-inspired design elements, an RGB-backlit ROG Fearless Eye, and Aura Sync support for coordinating its lighting with other compatible ROG hardware. Asus has not yet announced pricing or regional availability for the ROG Flux Charger Dock.
