ASUS launches stunning new ROG G1000 Edition 20 premium gaming desktop

ASUS unveils gorgeous ROG G1000 Edition 20 desktop for its 20th anniversary

Gaming PCs have become dramatically more powerful over the years, but truly distinctive designs remain relatively rare. To mark the 20th anniversary of its Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand, ASUS is aiming to stand out with its new Edition 20 series - and based on appearance alone, it has certainly made an impression.

At the center of the lineup is the ROG G1000 Edition 20, a limited-edition prebuilt desktop that replaces the traditional black-and-RGB gaming aesthetic with an eye-catching black-and-gold design. Rather than feeling like just another high-end gaming system, it presents itself as a collector-focused showcase piece intended to become the focal point of a gaming setup. Each unit includes an individual serial number, emphasizing its status as a commemorative anniversary product.

One of the system’s most notable features is ASUS' new AniMe Holo technology. This holographic fan system turns spinning case fans into floating displays capable of showing animations, custom graphics, images, and personalized effects. In many ways, it pushes RGB customization beyond conventional lighting, transforming the PC itself into an interactive visual display.

The premium styling extends throughout the chassis, with gold accents, illuminated details, and exclusive anniversary branding creating a more refined look than many gaming desktops. While numerous gaming PCs embrace aggressive, futuristic designs, the G1000 Edition 20 adopts a more upscale aesthetic. Users can further customize the experience by synchronizing animations, GIFs, and lighting effects across supported peripherals, creating a unified visual theme for their entire setup.

Beneath the striking exterior, the hardware is equally impressive. The system is equipped with AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor and Nvidia’s flagship GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. It also supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory and up to 4TB of SSD storage, providing more than enough performance for demanding gaming, streaming, content creation, and professional workloads.

Cooling is another major focus. ASUS has implemented a tri-zone airflow design that separates key components into dedicated thermal areas. The company also claims the G1000 Edition 20 is the first prebuilt gaming desktop to feature a 420mm all-in-one liquid cooler, offering substantial cooling capacity for its high-end components.

Ultimately, the ROG G1000 Edition 20 is less about practicality and more about making a statement. It serves as a celebration of two decades of the ROG brand, combining flagship hardware, extensive customization options, and a distinctive luxury-inspired design into a desktop aimed squarely at enthusiasts and collectors seeking something beyond the ordinary.
