Tire smoke and street culture take over in CarX Drift Racing Online 2

CarX Drift Racing Online 2 has big street racing energy
Early access

CarX Drift Racing Online 2 has that kind of energy that instantly pulls in anyone who grew up on late-night street racing games. The second you load in, the vibe feels heavily inspired by the golden era of car culture. There is a strong Need for Speed flavor here, mixed with underground drift scenes, tuned imports, loud engines, and that whole “meet at the parking lot and settle it on the track” mood. It is less about polished motorsport racing and more about sideways action, style points, and building a car that feels like your own project machine.

Even in Early Access, there is already plenty to mess around with. Players can jump into freeride sessions, practice tandem drifting, enter online duels, and compete in ranked events. The game also includes a TOP 32 tournament structure for people who want a more competitive scene. If you just want to cruise and throw your car into corners with friends, online rooms are there too. There is also a career path that starts with drift school and slowly pushes players into becoming proper tire-destroying maniacs.

Deep tuning, tire smoke, and garage time galore

The tuning side looks like one of the strongest parts of the game right now. Suspension settings, gearbox adjustments, ECU tuning, and customization options go pretty deep. It feels less like slapping random upgrades onto a car and more like actually building a drift setup. If you're the type of player that can spend an hour tweaking camber angles before touching the track, this one gets dangerous.

The car lineup is also built around different drift styles. You have lightweight Japanese-inspired machines built for technical corners, more aggressive power-focused builds, and bigger cars that look ready to melt tires for an entire event. While the cars are fictional, anyone into car culture will instantly recognize the inspiration behind many of them.

Right now though, Early Access still feels like Early Access. Some players love the direction while others think the physics, wheel support, and online performance need more work. A few rough edges are definitely there. Still, there is something here that feels promising. The foundation looks solid, and if the updates keep landing properly, this could become one of the go-to drift games around.
