Epic Games Store’s first April 2026 freebie is an epic robot fighting game

The Epic Games Store has rolled out another weekly giveaway. With the previous Havendock and Hyper Echelon offers now over, PC players can claim Clone Drone in the Danger Zone for free. As always, once added, the game is yours to keep permanently - just make sure to grab it within the next seven days.

Originally released in 2021 by Doborog Games, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is a voxel-based action title that puts you in control of robot gladiators armed with laser swords. The gameplay centers around slicing through enemies, with each hit capable of disabling or defeating opponents in dynamic ways. Earn upgrades and become the ultimate robotic gladiator.

For solo players, there’s a variety of modes to explore. The campaign features an alien invasion storyline, while the endless mode offers escalating challenges across multiple difficulty levels and dozens of level variations. There’s also a challenge mode that limits you to basic weapons, adding an extra layer of difficulty.

Multiplayer options are equally robust. You can team up in online co-op, face off in private duels, compete in a battle royale-style Last Bot Standing mode, or jump into team-based battles - a feature that was only recently introduced.

Although it may not be a mainstream title, the game has earned strong praise from its community. On Steam, it holds an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating based on more than 17,000 user reviews - the highest rating available on the platform. That level of reception makes it well worth trying, especially while it’s free.
