Epic Games Store makes two terrifying horror games free for Halloween

Epic Games Store’s Halloween giveaway includes two chilling horror games

As October comes to a close, the Epic Games Store is honoring Halloween with its own special game giveaway. The previous Fear the Spotlight promotion has concluded, and in its place, two new titles are available for PC gamers to claim. These games are Bendy and the Ink Machine and Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit. Like always, you have a week to permanently add these games to your Epic Games Store library.

Among these two, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a horror game that combines action with a first-person perspective, set in a strange yet nostalgic environment where classic cartoons come to life. The narrative follows Henry, a former animator who stumbles upon an ink machine that creates living cartoon characters. The story is revealed through audio recordings, notes, and surreal encounters. Players can expect to spend around four to seven hours completing Bendy and the Ink Machine.

On the other hand, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit is an adventure game featuring pixel graphics that immerses players in the well-known horror franchise. The plot centers around a boy named Oswald who leaps into a ball pit at an abandoned pizzeria, allowing him to travel back in time and face terrifying events related to his family.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit was made available on PC on August 7, 2024, but only on Steam. Today marks its debut on the Epic Games Store. It has been recognized as one of the standout horror games of 2024, boasting a score of 87 on Metacritic and an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, which is the highest accolade a PC game can achieve, resulting from a 95% approval rating across 4,886 user reviews. From a gameplay perspective, it follows a typical horror adventure format and takes about four to six hours to finish.

The giveaways for Bendy and the Ink Machine and Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit will conclude on November 6. As always, be sure to visit our free games page and keep an eye out for upcoming titles and special offers.
