Go-Go Town! celebrates its full release with major new features

Go-Go Town! leaves early access with a huge version 1.0 update
Updates & Patches

Go-Go Town! has officially left Early Access after more than two years of updates, player feedback and steady development. Prideful Sloth’s colourful town-building game is now available in version 1.0 on PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with more content and a much clearer sense of what the finished experience is supposed to be.

You play as the newly appointed mayor of a struggling little town. Your job is to attract tourists, build shops, create roads, gather resources and convince visitors to move in permanently. Those new residents can then work in businesses, deliver supplies or help maintain the town.

A town builder that keeps you in the action

What makes Go-Go Town! stand out is how involved you are in everyday life. You do not spend the entire game staring at menus and statistics. You walk around town, chop trees, carry materials, stock shelves, collect rubbish and drive a surprisingly large selection of vehicles. As the town grows, workers and automated systems begin handling more of those jobs for you.

The game shares some of the relaxed charm and community building found in Animal Crossing, although Go-Go Town! places much more emphasis on production, business management and keeping resources moving between different buildings.

Version 1.0 adds several major features. Creative Mode gives players a separate map where they can build freely without worrying about money or campaign progression. It is a welcome addition for anyone who enjoys decorating and experimenting more than completing objectives.

Treasure Hunting is another big part of the update. Players can now search for fish, insects, fossils, gems, relics and other collectibles. Discoveries are recorded through a Collections app and can be displayed around town using aquariums, stands and plinths.

The release also includes a redesigned technology tree, new town-ranking rewards and a revised endgame story. New shops, recipes, decorations, vehicles and sprinklers have been added, while parking garages and off-road driving give players more freedom when travelling. Maintenance workers can now recover lost items, and the troublesome Garbirds will raid rubbish and frighten tourists if the town becomes too messy.

Co-op remains one of the game’s most entertaining features. Friends can divide responsibilities and carefully plan the perfect town, or completely ignore the plan and create absolute chaos with vehicles and flying rubbish.
