Life Below brings a fresh perspective to the city-building genre by taking players deep beneath the ocean, where the game is set in a dying sea with disappearing coral reefs and a collapsing ecosystem. To restore balance and turn the seabed into a vibrant paradise for marine life, you will have to harness the power of a mysterious entity known as the "reef heart."

The game features an emotional and profound storyline, penned by Rhianna Pratchett, the famous female writer who has contributed to major projects like Tomb Raider and Mirror's Edge.

In Life Below, instead of constructing man-made structures, you will directly shape and develop a living, natural underwater ecosystem. You will have to plant and grow coral reefs, revive dead ocean zones, and attract over 40 different species of marine life to increase biodiversity.

The game has been developed with consultation from marine biologists. As a result, it offers a realistic environment where players will have to face climate pressures as well as natural and human-induced hazards, such as coral bleaching, warming ocean waters, invasive species (like lionfish), jellyfish plagues, water pollution, and oil spills.

A commendable aspect of this game is its humanitarian value, as the developer has collaborated closely with the Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) organization.
