RTX 5050 Specs Leak: Early Look at Nvidia’s Upcoming GPU
Specifications for Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU have been revealed through the German retailer Kiebel (via @Momomo_us on Twitter/X). These specs align with the leaked or rumored RTX 5050 desktop variant from Nvidia. This indicates that the main difference between the desktop and laptop versions of this GPU will be their power consumption and clock frequencies.
The RTX 5050 reportedly boasts 2560 CUDA cores, 20 ray tracing units, and a 128-bit memory interface. Unlike other RTX 50 series cards, this GPU is said to utilize GDDR6 memory, resulting in lower memory bandwidth compared to its RTX 50 series counterparts. It is believed that the RTX 5050 employs Nvidia’s GB207 silicon. This is likely to be the smallest Blackwell chip from Nvidia. Similar to other Blackwell GPUs, this component is said to be manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process technology.

With 2560 CUDA cores, Nvidia’s RTX 5050 appears to be a direct Blackwell upgrade of the last-generation RTX 4050 graphics card. It also has 2560 CUDA cores, but is equipped with a narrower 96-bit memory bus and a reduced memory capacity (6GB of GDDR6). Nvidia is anticipated to unveil its RTX 5050 graphics card in the near future. Currently, this GPU is expected to have both desktop and laptop versions available.
Naturally, Nvidia has yet to confirm the existence of the RTX 5050, so caution is advised when interpreting this information, but it would definitely be exciting to see a legitimate new budget gaming GPU make its way to the desktop, with the evidence continuing to accumulate.
The upcoming RTX 5050 is shaping up to be a fantastic entry-level option for gamers interested in joining the RTX ecosystem. However, for those willing to play the latest titles at high settings with blazing ray tracing, DLSS 4, and future-ready performance, the RTX 5080 stands in a league of its own.
