Overwatch 2 Reveals D.Mon as Its Newest Tank Hero
The MEKA Squad is finally getting another playable pilot. D.Mon, the newest Tank hero in Overwatch 2, is set to join the roster with the launch of Season 4: Heroes of Busan on August 11, 2026. Former professional gamer Yuna Lee steps into the cockpit of Beast, bringing a very different combat style from fellow MEKA pilot D.Va.
Meet the MEKA Pilot Taking the Fight to Her Enemies
Rather than relying primarily on ranged firepower, D.Mon takes the fight directly to her opponents. Her signature Plasma Saber allows her to engage enemies at close range, while her Power Barrier provides defensive protection for herself and her teammates. She can also activate Propulsors to maneuver rapidly around the battlefield, giving her the mobility needed to close distances and pressure vulnerable targets.
D.Mon's arsenal also includes the Fusion Repeater, giving the new Tank an option for ranged pressure when charging into melee range isn't practical. Her ultimate, Limit Break, further emphasizes her aggressive frontline identity and gives her another way to turn a team fight in her squad's favor.
Sword, Shield, and Beast Make D.Mon a Force to Fear
Like D.Va, D.Mon isn't permanently tied to her mech. When Beast is destroyed, she can eject and continue fighting in her pilot form before eventually calling her mech back into battle. However, her sword-and-shield design makes her gameplay feel closer to a mobile frontline warrior than D.Va's traditional ranged mech fighter. Early community reactions have already highlighted the combination of melee combat, mobility, shielding, and pilot mechanics as one of the most interesting aspects of the new hero.
With D.Mon finally becoming playable after years of MEKA Squad lore, Season 4: Heroes of Busan could mark an important moment for Overwatch fans hoping to see more of Korea's elite mech pilots step into the spotlight. Check out our comparison website for the best top-up deal for Overwatch 2.
