The Indigo Disk, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's second part receives a new trailer

The second installment of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, is about to drop, and the official Pokémon channel on Youtube has released a new trailer, showcasing the new features and Pokémon that players can look forward to. The first part, The Teal Mask, has been available since September 13, 2023. The Indigo Disk hits the shelves exclusively for Switch on December 14, 2023.

In The Indigo Disk, trainers will explore the maritime campus of the Blueberry Academy. Like any good Pokémon trainer, you'll get into various scrapes with fellow trainers, participate in events, and even engage in the largest legalized monster trading ever witnessed in the gaming world.

The new trailer showcases several innovations for the game. One of them is the addition of the Blueberry Quests, affectionately nicknamed BBQ. These are traditional RPG quests. In the preview, there's a moment where the player needs to find 3 Ditto Blocks in the Savanna Biome. Another addition is the ability to control the Pokémon alone, separated from the trainer, in a system called the Synchro Machine. A flavorful addition is the Partner Ribbon. After trading a Pokémon, if it enters battle with the ribbon equipped, the name of the original trainer will appear in its call.

Another fun addendum for longtime fans is the inclusion of legendaries from past generations, such as Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos, as well as the three legendary felines from Pokémon Silver and Gold. Rayquaza also makes an appearance, showcasing its magnificence in the trailer alongside numerous other legendary Pokémon. Several starters from previous installments are also featured. While many were already accessible through Pokémon Home, they will now be native to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokémon Violet and Scarlet broke incredible records in the franchise and for Nintendo itself. The games were the fastest-selling Pokémon, Switch, and Nintendo games ever at the time of their release, selling 10 million copies in three days. Before them, Pokémon Legends: Arceus had sold 6.5 million units, underscoring how the Pokémon brand continues to be colossal.

The DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, was split into two parts. The first part, The Teal Mask, is already available. The second part, The Indigo Disk, launches on December 14, 2023.
