Against the Storm – Nightwatchers is the gripping second DLC for the award-winning roguelite city builder Against the Storm. As the endless rain continues to batter the world, a new species rises from the dark: the Bats. Disciplined, cold, and ruthlessly pragmatic, the Bats bring a fresh edge to your settlements. They thrive not in harmony but through hard choices, gaining morale when others are exiled and enforcing order through their unique Manorial Court, which rewards decisive leadership, even at the cost of your villagers.

Venture into two striking new biomes, each offering distinct challenges and opportunities. In the Rocky Ravine, wood is scarce and danger runs deep in mineral-rich stone valleys. To survive, you’ll need to rely on the Black Market, a volatile but essential trading system where each deal could either stabilize your economy or sink it further into debt. Meanwhile, the Bamboo Flats provide a lush but infertile landscape. With fertile soil drowned by unrelenting rain, your best chance lies in caring for a massive creature known as the Fluffbeak. Nurture it with food, warmth, and shelter, and it will reward you with powerful fertilizer, revitalizing your crops and boosting settlement productivity.

The Nightwatchers DLC also expands the game's strategic depth with three new World Modifiers that introduce fresh constraints, like confined construction zones and the absence of natural geysers, forcing players to adapt in real time. You'll also face three new World Events, ranging from battling wild beasts in forbidden glades to negotiating with shady criminal factions and managing chaotic magical accidents. Each event adds new layers of tension and consequence to your decisions.

Unlock powerful new options through the Smoldering City's progression tree, including Legendary Cornerstones, unique Decorations, and 16 new Deeds to complete. Fuel your Rain Engines with Fuel Rods, deploy Rainpunk Shredders to automate woodcutting, and customize your playstyle with dozens of new rewards. All of this is tied together with a hauntingly beautiful new soundtrack featuring 27 original tracks that deepen the atmosphere of your expeditions.
