Razer brings Evangelion’s iconic EVA-01 to its new gaming gear lineup

Few anime franchises have had the lasting influence of Neon Genesis Evangelion. First released in the mid-1990s, the iconic mecha series has since expanded into films, spin-offs, and video games, while becoming a favorite among anime and giant robot enthusiasts. Now, Razer is bringing its distinctive visual identity to PC gaming hardware through a new collaboration featuring the Evangelion Test Type-01, better known as EVA-01.

The Razer x Evangelion collection covers five products from the company's existing gaming lineup: the DeathAdder V4 Pro wireless mouse, BlackWidow V4 TKL HyperSpeed wireless keyboard, Leviathan V2 X PC soundbar, Gigantus V2 XXL mouse mat, and Iskur V2 X gaming chair. Each receives a custom design inspired by EVA-01, combining its recognizable purple armor with neon green accents. The result is a collection that stands out from the usual black-and-RGB gaming setup, while also giving Evangelion collectors some dedicated merchandise.

The DeathAdder V4 Pro is particularly interesting for collectors, as the EVA-01 Edition comes with a custom display stand inspired by the mecha's transport platform from the anime. Beneath the themed exterior, it retains the same hardware as Razer's premium wireless gaming mouse, which previously earned praise for its lightweight construction and performance.

The other products receive similarly bold visual treatments. The BlackWidow V4 TKL HyperSpeed brings the EVA-01 aesthetic to a compact wireless keyboard, while the Gigantus V2 XXL provides a matching surface for the rest of the setup. Razer has also given its Iskur V2 X gaming chair the franchise-inspired makeover.

Perhaps the most unexpected addition is the Leviathan V2 X. Razer's compact, USB Type-C-powered gaming soundbar isn't necessarily the first product that comes to mind for an anime collaboration, but its bright purple finish and neon green controls make it a natural fit alongside the other themed peripherals.

Anime-inspired gaming accessories have become increasingly popular among hardware manufacturers, particularly with enthusiasts who enjoy collecting limited-edition products. However, there's one significant catch for Evangelion fans outside Asia: the Razer x Evangelion EVA-01 collection is currently restricted to the Asia-Pacific market. International buyers may therefore need to import the hardware unless Razer announces wider availability later.
