Samsung's inaugural Pro series Gen 5 PCIe SSD is set to launch in March
With a PCIe 5.0 interface, the Samsung 9100 PRO SSD promises industry-leading speeds, improved energy efficiency, and storage capacities of up to 8TB, making it an ideal choice for gamers, content creators, and multitasking users.
The advanced architecture of the Samsung 9100 PRO SSD delivers sequential read and write speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and 13,400 MB/s, respectively—a 99% performance improvement over its predecessor, the 990 PRO. Random read and write speeds have also been enhanced, reaching 2,200K IOPS and 2,600K IOPS, ensuring smooth multitasking and fast data processing.
Notably, the 9100 PRO features an advanced thermal management solution, improving energy efficiency by up to 49% compared to previous models. The integrated heatsink comes in two sizes: 8.8mmT for 1TB to 4TB variants and 11.25mmT for the 8TB variant, ensuring high performance without overheating concerns.

The introduction of the first-ever 8TB variant in Samsung’s consumer NVMe SSD lineup makes the 9100 PRO even more appealing. With its massive capacity, this SSD provides ample space for high-performance gaming applications and next-generation content creation.
The 9100 PRO is designed for broad compatibility, allowing installation in various devices such as laptops, desktops, and gaming consoles, making system upgrades easy. It also comes with Samsung’s exclusive Magician software, offering optimization tools, data migration features, and advanced security options.
Samsung plans to release the 9100 PRO SSD globally in four capacities: 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB. The 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB variants will be available from March 18, while the 8TB variant is expected to launch in the second half of the year.
