The choices that shape each assault on Castle Doom

Castle Doom unfolds across individual runs, with players trying to stop Doctor Doom from activating the Cosmic Inductor. Originally built to counter Annihilus, the unstable device threatens the entire cosmos. To reach Doom, the heroes must break through the castle’s defenses while managing two gauges: the Siege Gauge and the Stabilizer.

The Siege Gauge rises when enemies defeat the heroes, making the castle’s forces stronger. If it fills before players reach the showdown with Doom, the run ends immediately. Victories, meanwhile, yield Battery Cells that charge Reed Richards’ Stabilizer, helping stall Doom’s progress. Collecting batteries is therefore an important part of pushing deeper into the castle.

Under that mounting pressure, each door offers a different opportunity:

• Equipment: Grants special powers, such as force fields or energy blasts.
• Events: Leads to an arena with temporarily altered rules, where the outcome can bring bonuses or penalties.
• Heal: Restores the hero’s health.

Modifiers can increase both the challenge and the potential rewards, while completing a run and defeating Doom unlocks a new character color palette.

Alongside Castle Doom mode, the Doctor Doom DLC adds two playable characters, Doctor Doom and The Invisible Woman, as well as new tracks by Tee Lopes.
