The Division Heartland will launch as a free-to-play game
Ubisoft has been quite busy last weekend while revealing all the novelties coming to its most popular franchises. Among those, the French company has a special spot in the heart for Tom Clancy's games. Therefore, it has revealed that The Division series will continue with a new game. Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland will launch as a standalone free-to-play game that is set in a completely different scenario. The game abandons the dangerous streets of New York and moves to Silver Creek, a small town in the American Midwest that was once a peaceful place where to retire.
In Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland, you will take the role of an agent from The Division who is sent to the area after receiving a call for help. As you can imagine, the seemingly deserted town hides many secrets that you will have to uncover.
"Silver Creek was once a pleasant town in the American Midwest, but it was left in ruins following the spread of the Dollar Flu. Players will take on the role of loyal Division agents from across the nation responding to a call for help. Fighting alongside and against other trained agents, players will explore the secrets of Silver Creek and provide hope to what remains of small-town America."
The game will feature new PvP multiplayer strategic and survival elements, and gameplay similar to The Division and The Division 2. You can watch the developer intro that was revealed this weekend right below.
Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland will launch next year on PC and consoles, but there's not a specific release date for it yet. During the upcoming month, you will have the chance of testing the game in a series of beta events. You can register for the beta by visiting the official website of the game.
