FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

: How does the potion-selling mechanic fundamentally differ from typical simulation games?
Potionomics combines potion-crafting with a dynamic, real-time haggling system. Instead of just setting prices, you engage in a card-based negotiation with customers, using specific 'buyer's cards' to influence their mood, lower their expectations, and ultimately secure the best deal. This adds a layer of strategy and personality to each sale.; What is the role of 'buyer's cards' in Potionomics?
Buyer's cards are your primary tool for haggling. Each card has a unique effect, such as lowering the customer's haggling limit, increasing their trust in you, or even charming them. Building and strategically using your deck of buyer's cards is crucial for successful sales.; How does the 'adventure' component integrate with the potion-selling?
Adventures are how you gather rare ingredients for your potions. By sending your adventurers out on quests, you can find unique herbs, monster parts, and other mystical components that aren't available through regular vendors. The success of your adventures directly impacts the quality and rarity of potions you can craft and sell.; What are 'customer archetypes' and how do they affect haggling?
Customers fall into different archetypes, such as the 'Savvy Shopper,' the 'Desperate Buyer,' or the 'Skeptical Critic.' Each archetype has unique haggling patterns and reactions to your negotiation tactics. Learning to identify and adapt your strategy to each archetype is key to mastering the haggling system.; How does the 'mana' system influence potion crafting and sales?
Mana is a core resource used both for crafting powerful potions and for activating certain buyer's cards during haggling. Efficiently managing your mana allows you to create higher-quality brews and employ more effective negotiation strategies, creating a symbiotic relationship between crafting and selling.; What is the 'Charm' stat, and how does it affect gameplay?
Charm is a character stat that influences how receptive customers are to your haggling. A higher Charm stat can make customers more agreeable, increase the effectiveness of certain buyer's cards, and unlock special dialogue options. It's developed through interactions and specific in-game activities.; Are there any 'combo' mechanics between potions and buyer's cards during a sale?
Yes, certain potions can have passive effects that influence haggling, or specific buyer's cards can be played in sequence to create powerful combo effects. For example, playing a 'Flattery' card might make a customer more receptive to a subsequent 'Discount' card.; How does the 'reputation' system impact your potion shop?
Your reputation influences the types of customers who visit your shop and the prices they are willing to pay. Building a good reputation can attract wealthier clientele and unlock more lucrative opportunities, while a poor reputation might lead to fewer sales and more difficult haggles.; What is the 'Brewing Station' and what unique interactions does it offer?
The Brewing Station is where you combine ingredients to create potions. Beyond basic recipes, you can experiment with ingredient combinations to discover new potion effects, influence potion potency, and even imbue them with unique properties that might affect haggling outcomes or customer satisfaction.; How does the game encourage replayability through its unique mechanics?
Potionomics offers replayability through its deep crafting system with numerous discoverable recipes, a vast array of buyer's cards to collect and strategize with, diverse customer archetypes to master, and branching narrative paths influenced by your choices. The emergent strategies in haggling and ingredient gathering ensure each playthrough feels fresh.
