    J'attendais ce retour avec impatience, mais ce Legacy of Kain : Ascendance me laisse un goût d'inachevé. D'un côté, quel bonheur de retrouver l'ambiance unique de Nosgoth et ce doublage shakespearien. Artistiquement, c’est une réussite totale, sombre et majestueuse comme on l'aimait. Par contre, côté gameplay, on sent que la licence a encore un pied dans le passé. La caméra est une purge dès que l'espace se réduit, et les phases de plateforme sont parfois ridicule à cause d'une rigidité qu'on ne devrait plus voir aujourd'hui. Le système de switch entre les personnages est une super idée sur le papier, mais en pratique, les allers-retours dans le monde spectral finissent par casser le rythme. On sent aussi que le budget n'était pas illimité : le bestiaire tourne vite en rond et certains environnements semblent un peu vides. C’est un jeu pour les nostalgiques prêts à pardonner des mécaniques datées, mais pour les autres, la pilule sera dure à avaler
    I've been eagerly awaiting this return, but Legacy of Kain: Ascendance leaves me with a taste of unfinished business. On the one hand, it's great to rediscover the unique atmosphere of Nosgoth and the Shakespearean dubbing. Artistically, it's a total success, as dark and majestic as we've come to love it. Gameplay-wise, however, the license still has one foot in the past. The camera is a purge as soon as the space is reduced, and the platforming phases are sometimes ridiculous due to a rigidity that should no longer be seen today. The system of switching between characters is a great idea on paper, but in practice, the back-and-forth in the spectral world ends up breaking the rhythm. You can also sense that the budget wasn't unlimited: the bestiary quickly goes round in circles, and some environments feel a little empty. This is a game for nostalgic fans ready to forgive some dated mechanics, but for others, the pill will be hard to swallow.

    J'aurais aimé une suite, au goût du jour, en rapport avec cette licence. Legacy of Kain n'a jamais été une licence surpuissance mais restait un peu sympathique, auparavant. Aujourd'hui, c'est très mitigé.
    I would have liked an up-to-date sequel to this license. Legacy of Kain has never been an overpowering license, but it used to be a nice one. Today, it's a very mixed bag.

    Aquí habla un fan de la saga Legacy of Kain que tiene cero interés en este nuevo juego. No sé si será un pequeño gesto para un próximo juego de la saga pero no me ha generado ninguna expectación para jugarlo

    No me llama nada la atención. También tengo pendientes todos los juegos anteriores de la saga. Ahora, con las remasterizaciones, posiblemente me los pase en algún momento, pero este juego creo que no lo voy a jugar.
    It doesn't call my attention at all. I also have all the previous games of the saga pending. Now, with the remasters, possibly I'll pass them at some point, but this game I think I'm not going to play it.

    Apparemment le gameplay est assez basique : combat répétitif, platforming correct mais sans grande profondeur, et ce n’est pas vraiment un Metroidvania comme annoncé. C’est court et inégal, mais pour le prix, pourquoi pas j'imagine, mais uniquement si on n'en attend pas grand chose

    Creo que vale la pena pagar 15€ si eres fan de los juegos de la saga Kain o de los juegos tipo Metroidvania, pero también ten en cuenta que es solo un juego de bajo presupuesto. No hay mucha profundidad en la jugabilidad ni en la duración total, el arte está bien, pero no es gran cosa.
    I think it's worth paying 15€ if you're a fan of the Kain saga or Metroidvania type games, but also keep in mind that it's only a low budget game. There's not much depth to the gameplay or overall length, the art is okay, but it's not much.

    Viendo las criticas, creo que este juego ha sido hecho por gente que no comprende qué hizo grandes a los juegos anteriores de Legacy of Kain, y mucho menos entiende qué hace que un juego, como mínimo, sea divertido.
    Looking at the reviews, I think this game has been made by people who don't understand what made the previous Legacy of Kain games great, let alone understand what makes a game, at the very least, fun.
