The Gate Must Stand is a medieval fantasy roguelike tower defense game that blends fast-paced action with tactical base defense in a collapsing world overrun by demonic forces.

You are the last line of defense for the city of Belrak. As the invasion escalates, you must choose a hero, recruit and command allied followers, and build powerful defensive synergies to hold back relentless waves of enemies. Each run demands constant adaptation as you balance direct combat—fighting alongside your units—with strategic positioning and resource management.

The game combines tower defense structure with action roguelite intensity. You don't just place defenses—you fight in the thick of battle, supporting your units in real time while coordinating their abilities to create devastating combinations. Heroes and followers can be upgraded through branching skill paths, unlocking new combat styles and powerful synergies that dramatically alter each run.

Every few minutes, powerful demonic bosses appear, dropping game-changing relics when defeated. These relics enable further evolution of your forces, adding long-term strategic depth to each attempt. Even when a run fails, persistent progression systems allow you to strengthen future defenses and unlock new options.

With multiple heroes, dozens of follower types, extensive skill systems, and replayable procedural runs, The Gate Must Stand emphasizes experimentation, buildcrafting, and high-pressure decision-making in a world where survival hinges on one thing: the gate must stand.
