Alien: Isolation and Hand of Fate 2 are free on PC
It's not unusual for Epic Games Store to offer free games on PC. In fact, the digital distribution platform from the creators of Fortnite has been doing so at least once per week for quite a long while and we are accustomed to it. The variety of games that they offer is quite big and covers a lot of genres, but this week there are two games available for free that deserve a comment: Hand of Fate 2 and Alien: Isolation.
On one hand, Alien: Isolation is a superb survival horror game that takes the Alien franchise to a new level. Instead of focusing on fighting against the deadly Xenomorphs in an abandoned space station, the game features a deeper storyline that is much closer to the original Alien film from 1979. Playing as the daughter of the legendary Ellen Ripley, you will arrive at the Sevastopol, a space station that holds aboard the black box recovered from the Nostromo, the spaceship in which your mother disappeared years ago. But as soon as you arrive at the station you discover that its communication system is offline and the place seems to be strangely deserted. It won't be long until you discover that an alien creature is the cause of all this, and you will find yourself trapped in a nightmare similar to the one your mother experienced in the past.
On the other hand, Hand of Fate 2 is the second title in a series of dungeon crawler series that offers quite an innovative system to generate its adventures. The game uses a deck system to generate aleatory paths that you can explore as the story unfolds. You choose which cards will be present in the adventure, and these can include all kinds of events, equipment, companions, and more. As you progress through each game, you will take on different challenges and fight against enemies, which will unlock more cards that you can use later to create more adventures. The game offers a high replayability level with plenty of cards to unlock and possible combinations in your adventures.
Both games are currently available for free on PC via Epic Games Store and you can claim them until next Thursday.
