AMD confirms Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9950X3D CPUs will launch on March 12
AMD’s Jack Huynh has announced that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D CPUs will be available on March 12th, with prices set at $699 and $599 in the US, respectively.
These latest CPUs build on the success of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which was released in November and dominated the market by outselling almost every other desktop processor, partly due to the disappointing launches of both AMD and Intel’s Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200 series.
The new X3D processors are aimed at providing the advantages of AMD’s top-tier gaming CPU Ryzen 7 9800X3D, while also catering to content creators with higher CPU core counts. Featuring 12 and 16 cores respectively, the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D are powerhouses for content creation.
The world's best processor for gaming and content creation is almost here.

While the Ryzen 7 9800X3D excels in gaming, its eight Zen 5 CPU cores may not be optimal for intensive content creation or workstation tasks. This is where AMD’s Ryzen 9 X3D models shine.
The expectation is that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D will perform just as swiftly outside of gaming as their non-3D V-Cache equivalents, potentially making them suitable for users who engage in content creation or other resource-intensive activities alongside gaming. In fact, both models boast a higher peak boost frequency than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which could allow for even better gaming performance.
With prices of $599 and $699, AMD has kept the pricing of their new Ryzen 9 X3D CPUs consistent with that of their previous generation, which is excellent news for CPU purchasers. This means they can enjoy the benefits of AMD’s new Zen 5 CPU cores without facing increased costs.
