AMD is gearing up to launch its new Ryzen 9000 series gaming CPU, featuring 3D V-Cache. Recently, in an update for AMD/Radeon Software (as reported by MelodicWarrior), the company introduced the Ryzen 5 9600X3D CPU, which follows up on the Ryzen 5 7600X3D.

This new processor is an upgraded version of the Ryzen 5 9600X, providing gamers with more L3 cache for enhanced performance. With 96MB of L3 cache compared to the previous 32MB, this latest V-Cache enhanced CPU can hold more data on-chip. This leads to faster processing for various workloads, particularly benefiting gaming applications.

Having increased on-chip cache means AMD’s Ryzen 9000 X3D gaming CPUs require less time accessing data from system memory, resulting in a noticeable improvement in framerates for most games. However, as many PC games now suggest using 8-core CPUs, it raises concerns about the suitability of this new 6-core CPU for upcoming titles.
