Arrowhead is slowing the pace of Helldivers 2 updates

Taking it easy

Helldivers 2 has now a stable player base that has gone through the worst situations and the studio is confident enough to take its time to do things properly. Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt has recently confirmed this matter via Discord.

"We want to take some more time for this one and potentially between future patches since we feel cadence has probably been a bit too high to be able to maintain the quality standard we want and you deserve. Patching a lot can easily disrupt work flow and takes more resources than you might think; it needs planning, implementing, monitoring, possible tweaking in hotfixes etc. For this one we prefer to stretch it out a little, hopefully with a good result."

It's worth noticing that Helldivers 2 delivers a dynamic experience that Arrowhead modifies on the spot to keep it exciting. The addition of extra content has a huge impact in terms of balance and it needs to be gauged properly.
