ASUS announces the Radeon RX 9070 XT TUF and PRIME GPUs, featuring 16GB of memory
Following AMD's preview of RDNA 4, ASUS has introduced its first graphics cards in the Radeon RX 9070 series. Below are the new GPU designs from ASUS in the TUF Gaming and Prime series for the RDNA 4 architecture. Both of these GPUs will be available in the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 variations. Unfortunately, AMD has not disclosed the specifications for these GPUs, but there are some architectural insights available.
With RDNA 4, AMD is introducing optimized compute units, new AI accelerators, updated ray tracing accelerators, and a revamped AMD Radiance Display Engine. This is where AMD expects to gain performance improvements this generation. Unfortunately, no performance details were shared during their CES keynote, although they did announce FSR 4, their upcoming AI upscaling technology.
A new challenger approaches… ring in the new year with the graphical upgrade you deserve.

The TUF series Radeon RX 9070 from ASUS features a Dual-BIOS switch, a characteristic that isn’t usually found on ASUS’s AMD GPUs. This switch permits users to toggle between quiet and performance modes. Some users may be delighted to find that the RX 9070 series from ASUS has swapped traditional thermal paste for phase-changing GPU thermal pads.
This innovation, often favored by enthusiasts, improves thermal dissipation and keeps temperatures down with minimal hassle. The PRIME model is visibly outfitted with three 8-pin power connectors. The TUF model's configuration isn’t clearly visible, but it can be assumed that it matches the same setup. Collectively, these connectors can provide 450 watts of power, indicating that this GPU likely has a TDP exceeding 300 watts.
We anticipate that AMD will conduct a thorough exploration of RDNA 4 in the future. For now, it is clear that AMD is preparing to launch new GPUs that aim to enhance their previous shortcomings in areas like AI and ray tracing.
