Forget perfect restorations, Cheap Car Repair wants duct tape glory

Some games let you build a perfect business. Cheap Car Repair is not really that kind of game. This is the kind of game where you open the garage door, look at a broken car, check your empty pockets, and start wondering how much duct tape is too much duct tape. Set in 1990s rural Poland, the game throws you into the life of John the Mechanic, a guy trying to keep his repair shop alive by fixing cars in the cheapest, strangest, and sometimes most questionable ways possible.

The best part is that Cheap Car Repair understands exactly what makes this idea funny. You are not running a shiny, professional repair empire where every bolt is perfect. You are removing rust, hammering dents, painting panels, changing wheels, swapping parts, and doing whatever it takes to get the customer out of your driveway. Sometimes that means proper repairs. Sometimes it means using a ridiculous substitute and hoping nobody comes back angry tomorrow. That balance between saving money and not completely destroying your reputation is where the game gets its personality.

Like Car Mechanic Simulator, but much messier

It is easy to compare it to Car Mechanic Simulator, but Cheap Car Repair feels like its messy cousin who lives behind the shop and knows a guy who knows a guy. The satisfaction of taking apart a car and putting it back together is still there, but the tone is much more chaotic. Instead of chasing perfect restorations, you are chasing survival, profit, and the sweet feeling of getting away with a repair that probably should not have worked.

There is also more going on outside the garage than you might expect. The game includes a small open world, side missions, odd local characters, shady traders, secrets, and a strong countryside atmosphere. That helps it feel less like a simple checklist simulator and more like a weird little world you are stuck inside, for better or worse.

And judging by the early player reaction, the formula is working. People seem to enjoy the mix of hands-on repair work, low-budget problem-solving, and dumb garage comedy. It feels scrappy in the right way, and that is probably why it stands out in a genre that can sometimes take itself a bit too seriously.

So, if you want a mechanic game that is more about clever shortcuts than showroom perfection, Cheap Car Repair is worth checking out. Before buying, make sure to use our price comparison tool to find the best prices for Cheap Car Repair and get the best deal available.
