Experience Art and Action with Sony’s Ghost of Yōtei Bundles

Immerse yourself with Sony's exquisite Ghost of Yōtei PS5 bundles

Sony has recently launched two new designs for the PS5 console and DualSense controller inspired by the game Ghost of Yōtei. The designs are named “Gold Limited Edition” and “Black Limited Edition”. Each bundle includes a PS5 Slim console equipped with a disc drive, a matching DualSense controller, and a digital version of Ghost of Yōtei Standard Edition along with pre-order bonuses.

The “Gold Limited Edition” will be accessible worldwide, whereas the “Black Limited Edition” is an exclusive available only through direct.playstation.com in select regions. ThesePlayStation editions exhibit a Japanese artistic style, making them appealing to fans of that aesthetic.

As per Sony, the design for the “Gold Limited Edition” is influenced by kintsugi, a Japanese craft that mends broken pottery with gold, symbolizing the beauty found in flaws and resilience. In contrast, the “Black Limited Edition” draws inspiration from Sumi-e, a traditional Japanese ink painting that encapsulates the elegance and mystery of the land while reflecting protagonist Atsu’s inner conflict.

Additionally, both console designs include a unique maker’s seal etched with PlayStation symbols on the back of the console’s top cover, as well as on the DualSense Wireless controllers.

These console bundles are set to launch on October 2nd, coinciding with the release of Ghost of Yōtei. If you own a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro and appreciate the aesthetics of these new bundles, you need not purchase a new console; you can instead acquire Ghost of Yōtei “Gold Limited Edition” Console Covers online and attach them to your existing PS5. Sony has also indicated that the DualSense controllers will be available for separate purchase.

Ghost of Yōtei is an upcoming title from Sucker Punch, serving as a standalone sequel to Ghost of Tsushima and centering on the protagonist Atsu’s narrative of revenge in Ezo (Hokkaido). Pre-orders for the console will commence soon, with pricing details still pending. You can view the 20-minute gameplay reveal of the game during the State of Play presentation here.
