Intel Core Ultra 9 285K "Arrow Lake" packaging design leaked
Intel's Arrow Lake "Core Ultra 200" CPU will showcase a completely new box design, and we now have our first glimpse of the packaging for the flagship Core Ultra 9 285K processor.
The image, provided by the individuals at VideoCardz, allegedly leaked from Intel, reveals a completely new packaging design for the upcoming Core Ultra 9 285K chip, set to be launched early next month. This marks the entirely new appearance of a multi-chiplet CPU design and a completely new architecture for desktop computers.

From the image, it is apparent that the packaging for the Core Ultra 9 285K will be a flat box similar to the previous Core i9 series, only in a darker shade of blue with a background of dots. More importantly, VideoCardz suggests that the CPU Core Ultra 2 series indicates that Arrow Lake-S will no longer be a "15th generation Core" chip as it has been historically.

Of course, the technical details of the Core Ultra 285K are not displayed on the box; however, it is believed that this top-tier chip will have a total of 24 cores, including 8 high-performance Lion Cove cores and 16 efficient Skymont cores, without hyperthreading support, with a clock speed of up to 5.7 GHz and a 125W TDP. The compute chiplets of Arrow Lake-S will be manufactured by TSMC using various processes, including the N3 node, while all chiplets will be placed on a base die produced by Intel on the 22FFL node.
The Arrow Lake-S CPUs are expected to be officially released in early October and will be available for purchase a month later, with 3 options: Ultra 9 285K with 24 cores, Core Ultra 7 265K with 20 cores, and Core 5 Ultra 245K with 14 cores. All will be compatible with the next-generation Z890 motherboards featuring the LGA-1851 socket.
The remaining CPUs in the lineup will be launched in the coming months, including the non-K and T models. And while waiting for the next big thing for your gaming machine, you can also check out our comparator so that you can secure the best deals for your next favorite game.
