There are no InFamous or Sly Cooper games in development

Although there have been many rumors about the return of the InFamous and Sly Cooper licenses to the storefronts for several months now, the studio in charge of both universes, Sucker Punch, has spoken out on the matter. Unfortunately for the fans, their answer is not going to please them. Sucker Punch wanted to be clear on the subject: There is no new InFamous or Sly Cooper episode in the works.

The rumor came from a reputable insider, but he seemed wrong this time. As a reminder, he said a new Sly Cooper episode would be unveiled at a Sony conference this autumn. Because of the high expectations of the fans, the studio must have felt obliged to make a statement on this matter. Sucker Punch declared this:

"With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development."

Neither license seems to have the studio's attention at the moment. If we want to stay positive, we have to say that Sucker Punch has not closed the door on them and that they may make a comeback in a few years. In the meantime, the big project the studio is working on seems to be Ghost of Tsushima 2.
