Prince of Persia: Is there a remake in the works?
The last Prince of Persia was released 10 years ago but the franchise has been a theme of conversation again at the start of the year when Ubisoft announced a new VR game. It turned out to be an escape game, which is already available in some rooms.
But this is not exactly what fans of the license expected. They have been waiting for years to finally see a new game in the Prince of Persia series, and there is a new rumor about that matter circulating right now.
And it comes to us from the Max site, a Guatemalan reseller on which a remake of Prince of Persia has been listed on PS4 and Nintendo Switch with a release date set in November 2020. The page was quickly removed from the site, but not fast enough to go unnoticed, and the information has been widely relayed on social networks.
Although this should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, like any other “leak” from unofficial sources, a certain Jason Schreier, a reporter at Bloomberg and formerly at Kotaku, spoke on the subject.

Known for the reliability of the information he relays, he brings a certain dose of credibility to the existence of this Prince of Persia remake. Nothing has been said about which game in the series it could be or if it could be a collection comprising several games. The logo revealed is the same as that of the trilogy started in 2003 with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and, therefore, the information seems to point in that direction. Another well-known insider, Liam Robertson, thinks that the new title is going to be a remake of the original game of 1989.
I am making an assumption that this is the same project I heard about. If it is, it is real.

While waiting for an official confirmation from Ubisoft, it is better to avoid getting too carried away. That said, the next Ubisoft Forward is scheduled for September and it is possible that we know more about this matter during the show.
