We Happy Few: Arcade mode is available now!

Released in August 2018 after two years of early access, We Happy Few is a first-person action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games, a studio that also created Contrast. Available on PC, Xbox One and PS4, the game features a dystopian story in the 60s, in the heart of a German-dominated England, following its defeat in the Second World War. Wellington Wells is a seemingly quiet city, but this tranquility is due only to a drug called Joy that makes people happy and docile, like the soma in Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World". In We Happy Few, you play three different characters in search of the truth. This adventure game offers rich gameplay, letting you explore the city, infiltrate and even fight. Thanks to a procedural generation and several levels of difficulty, each part is unique.

During its Kickstarter campaign in 2015, Compulsion Games had already announced the addition of new modes after the release of the game. Well, it's already been done. With the 1.7 update, the arcade mode has just been deployed. Arcade mode is actually a combination of three different game modes:

• The Survival mode - It's a homecoming since it's basically what We Happy Few was proposing during its early access. You will have to survive as long as possible and find food, water, shelter... To do this, you will have at your disposal a whole range of skills, such as infiltration, or combat, but also the possibility of crafting various objects useful for your survival. Compulsion Games also announced that it was possible to escape the island, but it is still unknown how to do it.
• Night Watch - In this mode, you play as a Bobby, and you will have to face hordes of inhabitants who do not take Joy. Night after night, you will have to fight them, and the difficulty will gradually increase. You will be able to improve your weapons for more efficiency make a stand against increasingly numerous enemies, while not forgetting to take your Joy.
• Sandbox - This mode allows you to freely explore all the options of procedural generation. You will not have a goal to fill, and no scenario is waiting for you here. You can let your imagination run wild to create your own version of Wellington Wells, even cheating is allowed.

It will enrich your gaming experience with three new scenarios: Roger & James in: They Came From Below, Lightbearer, and We All Fall Down.
