Colt Canyon is a retro-flavored roguelike game where you take control of a wandering cowboy or one of the many other unlockable characters, that is looking to rescue his captured girlfriend. Depending on the class you choose at the start you will have access to different weapon choices. Travel across a randomly generated hostile canyon full of hidden treasures, weapons, obstacles and all kinds of bandits. These bandits may have ammunition, extra weapons, or some captured citizens. Free imprisoned citizens to get extra upgrades like max health, ammo capacity or other random perks like a bonus to the explosive range. You can also recruit the citizens and have them fight alongside you. Of course, you will have to give them some weapons also or they will be useless.

The different game levels are split up into segments of three, so you'll need to travel from 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3 before you hit level 2. If you feel like you've missed out on some cool guns or potential citizens, you can even go back and revisit past levels to stock up. The levels will change with every permadeath.
