    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I increase the prestige level of my university's sports team, and what benefits does a higher prestige provide?
Prestige is increased by winning matches and investing in team-specific upgrades. Higher prestige unlocks better players, improved training facilities, and increased ticket sales, all contributing to the university's overall funding and academic reputation.
What is the relationship between the curriculum offered by my university's faculties and the types of businesses that will thrive in my city?
The curriculum determines the skill sets of the graduating students. Offering programs related to specific industries (e.g., engineering for manufacturing) ensures a skilled workforce, boosting those businesses' productivity and tax revenue, while a mismatch can hinder economic growth.
How do I manage the academic reputation of my campus, and why is this important?
Academic reputation is built through research grants, the quality of faculty, and the success of student publications. A high reputation attracts more students, boosts funding, and unlocks advanced research projects, making the university more prestigious.
What is the impact of hosting special events like concerts or festivals on my campus and the surrounding city?
Events increase campus activity, boost student happiness, generate tourism income, and can provide temporary boosts to academic or sports team performance. However, they also create traffic and noise pollution.
How do research projects work, and how do they benefit the city and university?
Research projects consume funds, require specialized faculty and facilities, and generate new technologies, policies, and building upgrades for your city, while simultaneously increasing the university's academic reputation.
How does the type of campus specialization I choose (e.g., trade school, liberal arts college) impact the types of jobs available and the overall economy?
Different specializations prepare students for different career paths. Trade schools focus on vocational skills, providing a skilled workforce for industry, while liberal arts colleges may focus on white-collar jobs. The specialization affects the types of businesses that flourish in your city.
What role does the student body's happiness play in the university's performance and the overall city dynamics?
Happy students are more productive, generate higher academic results, and contribute to a more vibrant campus. A high student happiness rating attracts more students and increases donations, which improves the university's overall funding.
How do I balance the funding between academic faculties, sports teams, and campus services?
Effective funding management is crucial. Each faculty, the sports team, and campus services like student housing and transportation have their own budgets. Balancing funds requires considering academic and athletic performance, student happiness, and the long-term goals for your city's development.
What are the benefits of attracting international students to my university?
International students provide additional funding through tuition, bring diverse perspectives and expertise, and contribute to the university's international reputation, ultimately improving its prestige and research capabilities.
How do campus policies affect the overall city, and how can they be used to benefit the city?
Campus policies, like those related to traffic, waste management, and public transport, have a direct effect on the surrounding city. Smart policies can reduce congestion, improve air quality, and support sustainable urban development, benefiting both the campus and the city.
