Evertried is an isometric, tactical roguelite that challenges players to ascend a mysterious tower in the afterlife through strategic, turn-based combat. In this unique setting, every action you take dictates enemy movements, allowing for a gameplay experience that can be as fast-paced or methodical as you choose.

As a fallen warrior seeking redemption, you'll navigate through 50 procedurally generated floors, each presenting distinct challenges and enemy types. The game's core mechanics revolve around precise movement, calculated attacks, and the clever use of skills and environmental hazards to outmaneuver foes. Utilizing the Dash ability, you can traverse obstacles and reposition strategically, while various Skills and Modifiers enhance your capabilities and adapt to your preferred playstyle.

Progression in Evertried is marked by the accumulation of Focus, a resource that increases with consecutive enemy defeats and successful tactics. Maintaining high Focus levels unlocks powerful Modifiers and yields more shards, the in-game currency used to acquire new abilities and restore health at Shop Floors scattered throughout the tower.

Each area culminates in a challenging boss battle, testing your strategic prowess and mastery of the game's mechanics. Upon defeat, you'll return to the base of the tower, but with retained knowledge and improved skills, encouraging repeated attempts and continuous growth.

With its pixel-art aesthetic, atmospheric soundtrack, and engaging gameplay loop, Evertried offers a compelling experience for fans of tactical strategy and roguelite genres, rewarding thoughtful planning and adaptability as you strive to reach the tower's summit.

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I attack diagonally, or am I limited to cardinal directions when aiming my attacks?
You can only attack in cardinal directions (North, South, East, and West).
If I move immediately after attacking, does my 'Soul Gauge' still reset?
Yes, moving after attacking, even if it's the very next action, will reset your Soul Gauge.
How does the 'Focus' mechanic precisely influence the 'Soul Gauge' and its impact on the 'Evertried' special ability?
Focus extends the Soul Gauge's duration, allowing for more sustained use of abilities tied to it. The impact of 'Evertried' special ability depends on the amount of focus.
Are there any enemies that can move and attack on the same turn, bypassing the turn-based nature?
No, all enemies, like the player, adhere to the turn-based system, moving and attacking only after your action.
Can the 'Dash' ability be used to move through enemies, or does it only facilitate movement across empty spaces?
The 'Dash' ability allows for movement across empty spaces and cannot be used to pass through enemies.
Does the environment, such as destructible objects, offer any tactical advantages, or are they purely aesthetic?
Destructible objects can be strategically used to block enemy attacks or create pathways, offering tactical advantages.
How does the game handle the placement of enemies when a new floor is generated? Is it random, or does it follow a specific pattern or set of rules?
Enemy placement is procedurally generated but often adheres to rules that promote strategic challenges.
Does the 'Soul Gauge' replenish at a consistent rate, or can it be influenced by specific actions or abilities?
The 'Soul Gauge' replenishes only through successful actions like attacks, and its duration can be extended by focus.
If I am standing on a tile with a hazard, can I still attack, or am I forced to move first?
You can still attack from a hazard tile, but you will suffer the effects of the hazard during your turn.
When a level has multiple paths, do the enemy types and the overall difficulty change depending on the path I choose?
Yes, different paths can present different enemy compositions and challenges, impacting the overall difficulty and strategic approach.
