Wired Productions, a specialist in psychological narratives, announced that it has signed a global publishing agreement with Separuh Interactive for the promising survival horror slasher AGNI: Village of Calamity.The title, already in the spotlight for its authentic Indonesian setting, brutal cinematic horror, and determined protagonist Agni, reinforces Wired Productions' commitment to supporting distinctive creative voices in the mature horror and narrative landscape. To celebrate the announcement, a new trailer has been released accompanied by an original track from independent label Black Razor Records. The lead track, AGNI, was written, produced and performed entirely in-house and aims to convey the intensity, angst and emotional weight of the experience that awaits players.

If it includes part of Indonesian folklore it can be interesting for people who know nothing of their culture. Also, mixed with survival horror touches, it could be interesting.

It's a surprisingly original concept. Indonesia is very poorly represented in the video game landscape, and this could be a nice gateway. Not a fan of horror games, but I'll keep it in mind.

The atmosphere reminds me of the best of Silent Hill and Fatal Frame, but with an identity all its own. Indonesian folklore is still under-exploited in video games, so it's a nice change from the eternal haunted Japanese villages.
