Armored Core VI was just made easier

FromSoftware is not known for making its games easy and Armored Core VI follows that pattern. The high difficulty of a game that requires players to be on their toes at all times to dodge incoming projectiles and maneuver through multilayered scenarios at top speed while piloting their cores is not for everyone. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon can feel overwhelming to some players, especially those not used to such types of games. Fortunately, FromSoftware seems to have made the game slightly easier with the first big patch for the game.

Significant changes

Patch 1.02 introduces a series of bug fixes and balance changes to Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The overall experience continues to be great after those changes as the game didn't really feature any major bugs, but there are some changes to weapon reload times and damage that may shift the balance of some fights towards the players. You may want to revise your favorite weapons in the game after the changes because there are more options that will satisfy you now due to their increased firepower.

Also, three of the hardest bosses in the game have received adjustments to some of their attacks. While it does not necessarily mean that they have been made easier, you will go for a slightly different fight when facing Balteus, Sea Spider, and CEL240. The experience may vary depending on the player. If you have memorized their old attack patterns you should prepare for some surprises.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is one of the biggest surprises of 2023 and it has convinced the players, even though the mecha series created by the Japanese studio is not as popular in the West as Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Its dynamic gameplay, amazing graphics, and exciting combat make it worthy of a spot in your library.
