Astral Ascent DLC Adds Arven and Kat the Wolf Duo

Astral Ascent has officially released its latest DLC titled Astral Ascent - Arven the Wolf Blade. It's the third expansion released for the game and it features notable additions.

The Forest Ranger Arven and His Loyal Companion

Astral Ascent is a 2D action rogue-lite platformer featuring modern and beautiful pixel art graphics. The game takes place in a heavily fortified dungeon called the Astral Prison. This place is guarded by 12 extremely powerful Zodiac protectors. Player's choose one of four characters with distinct personalities and weapons, and they have to fight through the levels different levels int he dungeon to reach their freedom.

The new DLC allows players to step into the shoes of Arven, a determined ranger warrior. Upon hearing news of a group of heroes imprisoned in the Astral Prison, he decides to venture into this place, standing side-by-side with his loyal hunting wolf Kat to support those fighting for survival. Those who own this DLC will unlock the character Arven with a series of unique combat mechanisms, such as:

Accompanied by Kat the Wolf: Arven never walks alone. Kat the wolf will constantly follow him throughout the stages to assist in combat. This mechanic is also perfectly compatible with the previous DLC pack (Celestial Haven DLC), meaning both your old pet and Kat the wolf will run alongside each other.
25 Exclusive Spells: New moves allow Arven to use a greatsword to deliver powerful slashes, move fluidly, or set explosive traps that deal massive damage.
Signature Spell: Arven has the ability to launch a chain hook at enemies to close the distance at high speed, while simultaneously summoning Kat the wolf to rush in for a coordinated attack. You also have 30 Passive Perks included to customize this signature move according to your personal playstyle.

Arven also has 2 weapons that alter the gameplay and 3 passives for each weapon type. Those are the Alpha Sword (focusing on close/medium-range attacks, swinging and slashing widely at enemies) and Ethereal Missiles (using magic to fire powerful energy sources from a distance). The developer has also added 4 stories from the NPC Papa Yalee for players to discover the mysterious origins of Arven and Kat, accompanied by dedicated cutscenes and ending screens for this character.
